Creative Reuse: Old Windows = Cold Frame/Greenhouse

I’ve been salivating over making my own cold-frame for a while now, and I think I just drooled a bit after reading Re-Nest’s post on using old windows for cold frames.  The idea isn’t anything new to me, but they do a great job of putting together a lot of great resources on building your own cold frame, including this great article from the great Mother Earth News magazine.

Unfortunately, despite my landlord’s willingness to let me fool around with her gardens, I think building a cold frame is out of the question, not to mention the fact that she doesn’t really have any south facing beds.  Alas, I’ll just have to live vicariously through these articles for a while longer.
