Remove Resource: Catalogue Opt-Out

February 1, 2011 Leave a comment

Removing our address from the yellow pages mailing list has inspired us to once again remove our names from catalog mailing lists via the great resource Catalog Choice:

http://www.catalogchoice.org/

This is similar to Yellow Pages Opt-Out but a bit more complicated in that you need to have your costumer number handy, which is found on the address label of all catalogs.

Remove Resource: Yellow Pages Opt-Out

Via another great resource, Earth911, we bring you a new, official Yellow Pages opt-out website:

http://www.yellowpagesoptout.com/

Does anyone really use Yellow Pages anymore? I have to say I have a slight nostalgia for flipping through them but that could never compensate for the huge amounts of waste they create, not to mention the fact that many people get two or three copies a year (I think we got about five in Santa Monica). While it’s not the most straightforward process (and the site is a little slow), hopefully it will go a long way toward making this dinosaur extinct.
